RESEARCH THEMES

Interventions that promote thriving and wellness capacity among individuals exposed to chronic and severe stress

by reducing  burnout and enhancing coregulatory bonds.

Heart rate variability biofeedback (e.g., autonomic and breathing regulation) interventions for public safety personnel

 exposed to organizational/operational stress.

Training to facilitate autonomic regulation and performance during stressful experiences

Health and flourishing among LGBTQ2S+ persons. The Lab's consistent collaborative work in this area insists on a critical shift away from the historical trend of research that pathologize LGBTQ2S+ persons through the use of illness narratives. Our recent work in this field revolves instead around the myriad, but often overlooked, factors demonstrating LGBTQ2S+ persons biopsychosocial thriving in the face of on-going challenges.
